SHOWELL GALLERY
See the latest contemporary work from Jenny Hemming at The Showell Gallery, Civic Centre open Monday to Friday 9-5pm

VALE ARTS TRAIL
Vena are organising Vale arts trail which will be happening over the month of October in and around Pershore and Evesham. They have already nineteen exhibitions programmed and 2 open studios. It looks set to be a great arts trail with paintings, photography, crafts and sclupture from both professional and amateur local artists. Keep up to date at the Wychavon website www.wychavon.gov.uk

DROITWICH ARTS 4 ALL
This is happening again on Saturday 14th November from 12-4pm at the Norbury Theatre. If you are an artist or arts organisation and want to gain new members or showcase your work then this is the place to do it. Applications are welcome from now. DROITWICH ARTS NETWORK
If you want to network with other artists and get things happening in the arts in Droitwich then this is place to come. The next meeting is Thursday 23rd July at 7.15pm at Norbury Theatre, membership is free.

VALE OF EVESHAM NETWORK OF ARTISTS
If you want to network with other artists and get things happening in the arts in Pershore and Evesham then this is place to come. The next meeting is Monday 17th Aug at 7.15pm at Number 8, membership is free. Vena is currently working on the Vale Arts Trail and still needs people to help, if you want to get involved please contact jenny.davis@wychavon.gov.uk

STUDIO B AVAILABLE TO RENT NOW at The Fold, a centre for inspiration, creativity and healing.
This fabulous studio of about 25m2 is set amongst seven others, where leading designer makers both make and sell their wares. SUE JOHNSON
Pershore writer Sue Johnson has joined forces with novelist Anita Andrews to create The Writers' Clinic - which aims to help and inform writers of all levels. www.writers-clinic.webs.com
 
Sue Johnson and Anita Andrews will be celebrating the launch of the website by running a one day course at Forge Mill Needle Museum, Redditch on Sunday 16th August from 11.00 - 4.00. Training

DANCE LINKS TRAINING is for dance artists, practitioners and out of school dance providers who want to develop their skills delivering dance in schools within or beyond the curriculum.

Dates have now been confirmed for this year’s training, which will be run as two day residentials:

  • Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September – Birmingham

Training costs just £75 including meals and accommodation. Places are limited and applications will be assessed and allocated on a first come, first served basis. Final closing date for applications is 12 noon, Friday 14 August 2009.

Dance Links Training is being delivered by NDTA on behalf of Youth Dance England.

NEW YOUTH MUSIC FUNDING STREAM
Youth Music Opens New Grant Making Programme 
Youth Music, the UK’s largest children’s music charity has announced that its grant making programme is now open for applications. Through its Open Programme, grants of between £5,000 and £30,000 will be available to support projects that provide structured, regular and progressive music-making activities for children and young people in support of Youth Music’s goals of working with Early Years, Children and Young People in Challenging Circumstances, Encouraging Talent and Workforce Development. To be eligible, projects will need to:
  • work with children and young people aged 0-18 years (or up to 25 if they have special educational needs, disabilities or are in detention)
  • and children and young people will be at the heart of the decision making for all projects.

ELEPHANT TRUST
The Elephant Trust offers grants of up to £2,000 to artists and institutions (priority is given to small organisations and galleries) for new, innovative visual arts projects based in the UK. The Trust was created in 1975 by Roland Penrose and Lee Miller with a view to develop and improve the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the fine arts.

The Travelling Picture Show

Number 8 Summer SchoolsBooking now for AugustLiven up the summer holidays for your child with Number 8’s Summer Schools. They can explore different theatre techniques, devise their own piece and perform on stage in the Youth Theatre Summer School for 8 – 15 year olds from Monday 10 – Friday 15 August, 10.00am – 12.00pm.  Or for those interested in dance there’s the Movies and Movement Dance Summer School, a week of fun, creative and contemporary dance from Monday 17 – Friday 21 August exploring the theme of ‘Cinema’. With classes for 5-7 years 10.00am – 12.00pm; 8-12 years 11.15am – 12.45pm.

ARTSWORKERS DATABASE
They have around 20 artists working in they portfolio! A team of visual and expressive artists and therefore we can plan your whole event- taking away the stress and time involved in planning this. Our artists are all CRB Checked and have insurance. We can offer activities to include: African, Indian and Japanese drumming. Dance: All styles including hip hop street, contemporary, Irish, Egyptian, Flamenco. First Aid Awareness. Visual artists include: Sculpture, batik, wall hangings, mosaic, paper making, glass art and photographyThey can provide workshops to link with drama and story telling, music and work with famous artists!
